The group hosts summer internships and final year projects in the area of organophosphorus chemistry. Interested external students and interns are invited to contact us about potential projects as early as possible and may consider schemes such as the RSC Undergraduate Bursary.
Funded opportunities through grants held by the group will be advertised through internal channels.

Fully funded MSc and PhD positions within our group will be posted here as they become available. For more information on these opportunities, please reach out to David directly.
MRes opportunities for internal and external candidates: David is the co-director of the Advanced Chemical Synthesis MRes programme at UCC. There are opportunities each year to undertake 70 credit major research theses in our lab in the area of synthetic organic chemistry. Eligible students may be able to avail of SUSI supports to partially fund their studies.
The group has also supervised 70 Credit major research theses in the area of sustainable organic synthesis as part of the Sustainable Materials and the Environment MRes programme. Please reach out to discuss potential projects in the area of sustainable organic synthesis. Eligible students may be able to avail of SUSI supports to partially fund their studies.

Applicants who are interested in applying for independent funding should contact David well in advance of their anticipated start date and indicate which fellowships they plan to apply for.
Potential sources of funding include Research Ireland and the Marie Curie fellowship programme.
Our group is currently interested in developing expertise in asymmetric photocatalysis, machine learning and physical organic chemistry/mechanistic studies and would be delighted to host researchers who can bring these complementary skill sets.
